FRETBOX

Privacy Policy

Last updated 1 September 2026

Fretbox collects no data whatsoever. No analytics, no advertising, no accounts, no crash reporting. The app makes no network connections, so there is nothing for us to collect — and no way for us to do so even if we wanted to.

Your scores

Files you open are copied into the app's own private storage on your iPhone so they keep working offline. They never leave the device. Deleting the app deletes them.

The microphone

Fretbox asks for microphone access only when you open the tuner, and uses it only while the tuner is running. The audio is analysed on the device, in memory, to work out which note you are playing. It is never recorded to a file, never stored, and never transmitted. Close the tuner and the microphone stops.

Permissions

The microphone is the only permission Fretbox requests. It does not access your camera, photos, contacts, location, or health data.

Third parties

There are none. Fretbox contains no advertising networks, no analytics SDKs and no social integrations. No third party receives anything about you, because nothing is transmitted.

Children

Fretbox is rated 4+ and safe for children. Since it collects no data at all, it collects no data from children either. It has no user-generated content, no external links and no purchases.

Your rights

Regulations such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct or delete personal data held about you. We hold none, so there is nothing to request. To remove the data stored on your own device, delete the app.

Changes to this policy

If Fretbox ever starts collecting anything, this page will be updated before that version ships and the change will be described in the release notes. As of the date above, it collects nothing.
